| Roundup Rotary Bulletin #9 For The Week of August 20, 2009 Pledge, Prayer and Song The proud Commanding Officer, Captain, Russ Thompson led pledge of Allegiance, and Jeff Sturdevant led the prayer and Lee Hindman led us in song! Visiting Rotarians and Rotarians with Guests Danny Nuffer couldn’t introduce any visitors because there were none! However, Chris Yeager introduced his guest Pastor Ron! Don Brock introduced Lee Nuffer, becuz his ‘ol man forgot to! Announcements Announcements were plentiful on this fine Thursday! Rosa needs STAR program volunteers…please sign up with her. It’s really rewarding and it only takes thirty minutes. Golf: we need a golf team for the 26th Tournament!! Lee announced that the Regional Club Meeting is October 3rd at 11 a.m. We will not meet on the Thursday, (10/1/09) Whining and Fining President Emma is sure bringing in the $$$$! Eddie Madueno got hit for $50 because he “got new business cards”…. 2nd in command for ECPD! Awesome Eddie!! Julie Hamilton had to pay $25 for not using her head and jumping off a cliff at the river…”everything hurts a little more after 30!” Captain, Russ (Bucket) was in DC for training for 3 weeks and then San Diego for another week- all, which cost hi $50! Welcome Back!! It only cost Bob Hahn $25 to travel to Illinois to visit his grandson! And then, there is President Emma’s “name that tune” game! She had some doozies from the 30’s! It cost Cyndy some cash to guess incorrectly, but then the “winners” had Celia’s gift cards! Thanks to President Emma for your generosity! Program Matt Valuseck, chiropractor was our program! He is a local fellow and graduate of Vincent Memorial High School in Calexico and received his advanced degree from Loma Linda University. Matt that has taken up his practice and joined his dad, who has practiced in the Valley for over thirty years. He discussed lower back pain and all of the elements that go along with it! Proposed Member Ronald P. Griffen, “Ron”, is being proposed for membership. Ron is the new Pastor for the First United Methodist Church in El Centro. Ron is married to Sarah and they have a “blended” family. Ron is a graduate of Notre Dame University and has a Doctorate of Divinity from Claremont. Ron was a member of the Daybreak San Luis Obispo Rotary Club from 2002-2006 and became a Paul Harris Fellow in 2004. Let’s all take time to meet and welcome Ron to our club meetings!
